  • >Am Famous

    >Yeah.. I am featured on the latest issues of Business today!! thanak you thank you for all the accolades. here is the print shot. okay, to make things straight my back is famous for now (yeah! that is me in the green tee). I was just wondering how exhilirated i feel seeing my pic in print inn a national magazine. I should sure become a politician to satisfy this need of mine.

Thanks to my brother, Jatin for locating the pic.

It has been a fun 3 weeks in campus. Second year relatively seems to be chill, and am sure its not going to be like this for long. how can it??.. It is IIM L after all. just waiting for the wind sheeter to move away for the storm to hit.

Was involved in loads of activities. pulled up a brilliant hoax. managed to make a record in selling the maximum number of t – shirts by one single committee. We as the Student Exchange committee came out with IIML INDIA tees for the batch to flash along with the exchange students. here is the pic.

One more thing for the STEX committee. we had a brilliant Overtures (intro of the committee to the juniors) with a wonderful video. thanks to the creative heads, along with the organizational heads!! lol
had fun making it. amazing experience. spending nights together in that endeavour, and then the satisfaction with the final output is something that cannot be expressed. ofcourse, alongside the memories of making it would be etched for a long time to come. Here i am acting like SARKAR for the shoot. was edited out later though!! 🙁

and finally one more media to bombard you with. The Video that we presented in the overtures.

If a picture speaks more than thousand words, i am sure a video speaks a lot more.

  • >Summer shining!

    >Never thought that there would be an advantage of not knowing any language, but here I am sitting in front of two people commuting in some strange language (Malayalam), and I can’t make anything of it. Talking about the advantage – I don’t have to speak anything (Good it saves my voice). What the heck? I have not come all the way from Mumbai traversing 1000 odd kilometers just to be a silent spectator after completing my job of briefing the moderator. Aah! Wish I knew Malayalam!!

Seriously, I so want to myself interact with the consumers for a better feel of the reaction towards my product here, but am helpless! I am waiting so eagerly for Delhi – Where i myself would be able to interact with the consumers.

I am flying down to Delhi on Monday, would be in the capital on 19th afternoon. Junta in Delhi do ping me, would love to catch up with ya.

My project is going great guns. Am on a all India tour working for my product. Was in Vizag recently, went down to Mumbai for two days for the mid term review, and am now in Cochin ( Yes, God’s own place). Next it is Delhi, and then back to Mumbai. After that a short trip to Vizag to complete the study I started out there. It is a challenging project I should say, and if it turns up in the shape I have visualized, I am sure to be the next FMCG big guy in the country. (Aah! Long dreams I should say!)

Cochin’s an awesome place. I have put up here at MG road (Every major city sure has this road!), and went down to the marine drive yesterday evening ( one other place every major coastal town in the country boasts of!) along with Nirmal Rajoy – My senior at L, who is now headed to AVB group.

Now here I should talk about my last Saturday night in the Vizag trip. Me, Mukesh (Senior at L), Abhinav (Who came down all the way to Vizag from Bangalore > Vijayawada), Gauri, Golu, Sailesh, Abhishek went down to 10D pub. One awesome night it was. Started off with light drinks, graduated to tequila, and then any drink that followed, and gave it a grand finale with the fire shots. One helluva night it was.We partied wild till the wee hours of morning, and then after driving down the others home, me and Abhi were in for some more fun. We went down to Vizag’s night mess – The road outside HSBC call center. Finally, Mom had to call at around 5AM, asking me if I was interested in getting back home any soon! Mom and Dad had to go for their daily walk at 5:30AM, and I had locked the door so that I don’t face any disturbing sleep charges. Now it was high time I get home, lest I be the reason for their missed walking routine and bear the flak.

We got back home at around 5:30 when the sun was up, and people had started their morning jogs. We party revelers had not yet slept. An IIM can seriously screw your biological clock and make you completely unsocial, and insane people blame the call centers for their odd timings! They at least work! We are here awake all night doing nothing productive (Ah! Of course distressing ourselves, if that can be called anything near to productive)

Abhi had a train to catch at 6, and we slept at 5:30 thinking we would wake in 15, but that was not to happen. As expected, we woke up at 9:30, and Abhi was in a fix. Poor guy had a bus to catch at 7 from Vijayawada, and also some pending work to be done. Tight situation!!

We rushed to the station and he managed to get into the yashwantpur express at 11. Hope he reaches on time. I get home, bear the flak for being out all night, and ignoring the social acceptance protocol. Now it was time to get ready and “start” packing. I had a flight to catch at 2 in the afternoon for Mumbai. Dad, mom and Bro all came down to send me off and we went to the airport in a cab. And yeah, I traveled Indian Airlines (Finally something other than a low cost airline!!)

Reached Mumbai at about 5, after a brief halt at Hyderabad. With this constant fear of not being allowed into the hostel, I reached Churchgate, and luckily managed to find Pavan and Kuchi out. I asked Pavan to take in my suitcase, and walked in confidently myself avoiding any kind of eye contact with the watchman out there. Voila! I was here! Back in the hostel. Albeit only for 2 days. Have to leave for Cochin on Wednesday. Slept all evening and night and was in time for the office next day.

2 days in the office, made all travel arrangements, and started off for Cochin on Tuesday late night. Yeah! One more non-low cost airline – Air India. Ah! My fascination with these flying machine (nah! not the jeans brand). Now, Here I am in Cochin raring to go.

  • >IN the summer time..

    >Wrote this in the flight to Vizag

In the jetlite flight. Mumbai to Vizag. Yes baby! Me back home. Nah, don’t worry, me not kicked out of Cadbury yet. Have been sent to vizag for two weeks for a part of my study.

The fortnight is going to be a wonderful, eventful and laded with loads of fun, I am sure.

Have not informed anyone at home about my arrival. Would be good to see their surprised faces, filled with a sense of happiness.

About Cadbury’s and the Mumbai experience. It has been awesome. Landed in Mumbai exactly two weeks back on a Saturday. Went away with Girish (My cousin, working in 3G out here). Spent the night at his PG, and saw the real Mumbai life. Cramped places, fast lives, Single social fabric, filled with loneliness but still people have a smile on their faces. Still people are all bent on invading this metro.

Girish stays in borivalli, which is like on the other side of the metro, from my office at mahalakshmi. So, we went by the Local (nice insights from the local train travel, would come soon in a complete dedicated post for it), to churchgate station where I am supposed to be put up at the Government College Hostel.

Thanks to Rahul, Pavan and others I did land up with some roof over my head, with Rahul as my room mate. We guys from L went for dinner close by, and I retired early to sleep to be ready and fresh for my first Corporate experience. Of course, we also had a trip to the marine drive which is like jus a 2min walk from the hostel also happened.

Now me at home, already a week done, and the study in full process. It feels great to be executing the thing overall, Have realised that planning sitting in the head office is one thing, and hitting the market and executing the plan, talking out with various stakeholders, and convincing them of the plan is a completely different ball game all together.

    More in the coming posts….

  • >Classroom Blues!!!

    >QAM class going on. Prof. Shukla is on with “correction factor”, etc random, arbit. Want to get out of the class for a quick siesta, but to no avail. I don’t want a grade drop!!
What the heck? Why don’t I sleep in the class? Look at the S brothers, right there in the first bench; V on the other side or the quintessential A who I don’t think was awake in any class (Except probably that FM class where the Prof. had brought his beautiful secretary for CP marking).
Y there is tryin hard to be awake.Oh! Now he has actually rested his hand on (Nah! Not where you thinkin. Perverted. ) the desk.
Now moving to my left, S has moved from her assigned seat. The prof. has already warned her not to disturb others sleep by the murmurs (Noise actually!). Thankful to her, as she is the real reason I am in class today.
Nah! No infatuation, I rather sleep, but thanks to her wakeup call and threats of a grade drop and prospects of being her junior, I had to drag myself till here on a cup of tea (Sans Brush of course) and two drags of smoke. So much for survival!!

    One more day!!

“Number of positives should be somewhere around half!!” Could not really make anything out of it, but, who cares?? Slept at 6 in the morning and thanks to S’s call, woke up at 9:39 for the 9:40 call. (I am sure she’s gonna be a great JIT specialist)
Got the quiz papers. Scored a dismal 4/10. Wait!! This is 600% increase from the pathetic 2/30 I scored in Mid exams.Good going bharat, but at this base, the passing mark would come only the next year.

The prof just sent three guys out of the class. They dared to indulge in some other activity (Creation of noise) when they were required to sleep like the rest of the class. A, sitting beside them is still following the norm or rather diktat religiously. Sometimes, I find these classes so much similar to kindergarten classes, where all of us were required to go to sleep in unison and anybody not adhering to it( Arrey! Dad also prescribes the same sleep at home. Home much will I sleep?) is punished.( was in a boys kindergarden so no better incentive than sleeping. Sob! Sob!)

Prof. : “Can I cover this before that?”
Students: “ You can’t.. it has to be inner outwards.. We don’t want to be supermen!!”
    Bad Joke. *&^&%$^

  • >What else??…

    >have marketing exam in another hour, and here after getting exhausted in the research, here i am with a post.

Recently got this mail. Quite funny, but actually true.
    Unusual but thoughful.
Tell me how many of us are actually affected by this AUR BATAO syndrome?? Guess we all r suffering from it.Conversation between any two professionals, who are also Friends, these days do turn out to be
    “Hello”
    “Hi”
    “hey how r u???”
    ” fine!!! What about u???”
    “m fine too”
    “cool”
    “so howz life???”
    “gud”
    “hmmmm”
“aur batao?” ( passing the ball to the otherside)
“hmmm everything as usual.. U temme”
“Nothin much out here.. same usual routine!!”
“so what else???” ( passing the ball to the otherside)
    “nothing much”
    …..
    ..
    ..
And it goes on like this until they give up!!

I am sure many of us (not excluding me too!!!) have such conversation with our friends.
We all suffer from this “aur batao” syndrome.
It just means our life is all screwed up following the usual monotonous routine, wat say?? Probably we need a change in our lives, something which is exciting, something that is adventurous, something which really makes us feel gud and fresh….Correct????
So go out and thoda chill maaro yaaron!!

Me doing my part.. Going to Vizag next week. Will reach there on monday.. yeah!!.. After a good six months, missin hte place so badly!!( Never thought i would!!)

After a week in vizag, i am off to mumbai( Cadbury.. My internship!!).. so its gonna b a fun 2 months ahead!!..

Thats it with me.. U temme!!!( Aah! This syndrome!!!)
